CEO – Maurice R. Torgan
Bob served in the U.S. Air Force where he gained his education in the air conditioning field. In 1967, he began his career as a service technician for Brandt Engineering in Dallas, Texas and was later promoted to service manager for their Houston, Texas branch. In 1980, he incorporated Houston North, where he is the Chief Executive Officer overseeing the corporation’s financial and business enterprises. Mr. Torgan holds a Class A license for air conditioning and refrigeration in Texas.
President – Acie Dickerson
Acie began his career as the manager of an HVAC and refrigeration materials wholesaler in Pensacola, Florida and was later transferred to Houston, Texas to manage a locality there. In 1985 he began employment with Houston North in sales and later was promoted to Vice President, then President where during the past few years he has overseen the corporation’s day-to-day operations. He currently holds a Class A license for air conditioning and refrigeration in Texas, Louisiana, and Georgia.
Vice-President – Donald Johnson
Don began his employment with Houston North in 1991 as a service technician and was later promoted to Service Manager and to Vice President in 2000. He currently holds a Class A Combination Air Conditioning and Environmental Air Conditioning Commercial Refrigeration and Process Cooling and Heating License in Texas. Don graduated from Del Mar College with a degree in refrigeration and climate control and received an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from the same institution.
Controller – Donna Harness
In 1982, Donna began her career with Houston North where she served as the company’s Dispatcher for seven years. She was later promoted to Office Manager where she administered the company’s clerical and accounting staff and procedures. As company growth and expansion required, she was promoted to, and is currently the Controller. In this capacity, she continues to supervise the accounting functions and procedures and produces monthly financial reporting. Donna gained her education at North Harris County Community College and has maintained currency through Continuing Education and seminars.
Vice President MRT Lighting – Mark W. Koen
Mark gained his Journeyman’s License for electrical work in 1985, and began his career working for major electrical contractors as a Service Technician and Project Manager. His employment with Houston North Air Conditioning, Inc. began in 2001 where he promoted and sold lighting retrofit jobs nationally through Houston North’s dba company, MRT Lighting. MRT Lighting has since been awarded and designated as an Energy Star Partner. Mark currently holds a Master Electrician’s license in Texas, California, Florida, Georgia and Maryland. He obtained his education attending University of Texas, IBEW, a Private Estimating and Design School for Electrical and continuing education.
Service Manager – Harry Wheatly
Harry began his career with Houston North in 1996 as an HVAC Service Technician. He was soon promoted to Field Supervisor and then to Service Manager. Harry is responsible for overseeing all operations in the Service Department and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Safety Director – William Torgan
Prior to relocating to Texas, Bill was a former Police Lieutenant, Army Captain, and Private Investigator who specialized in performing polygraph examinations. Bill joined Houston North in March of 1992 and supervised coil cleaning operations. He took over as dispatcher and later was promoted to Safety Director. Bill is a certified OSHA Construction Outreach Trainer and also currently oversees our fleet of vehicles and credit management functions.
